What pistols are for

Backup and budget. A pistol on your rig is what you fight with when the primary is empty or you are running a scav-tier kit; a few of them punch well above their size with the right round.

Ergonomics is the stat: fast draw and fast follow-up. Check the caliber page for which 9×19 or .45 rounds have any armour penetration at all. Every weapon below has a best-ammo page built from its caliber ladder, and the ammo chart holds the full table.
