As Arena Breakout Infinite closes out its first season, fans are eager for what’s coming next. With Season Ignition launching April 29, we sat down with Brian, the game’s lead designer, for a deep-dive conversation. In this exclusive interview with Tony, Brian reveals what players can expect — from new content and gameplay tweaks to monetization changes and the highly anticipated solo mode.
Tony: Brian, thanks for joining us! Let’s kick things off — what were your main goals when planning Season Ignition?
Brian: Thanks for having me! It’s a pleasure. We really wanted to expand the player experience. Season Ignition is all about refining core mechanics, responding to community feedback, and bringing fresh content while maintaining the tactical, high-risk feel that defines Arena Breakout Infinite.
New Maps, Returning Events, and Tweaks
Tony: Can you tell us what kind of new content players can expect?
Brian: Yes, a lot of new content! We’re bringing in a brand-new map and bringing back improved versions of past events — with a few surprises.
Tony: I remember that storm event on Farm — that one was wild. Will we see that return?
Brian: Yes, for sure. It’s coming back, but tweaked for better pacing and intensity.
Tony: Love it. Now let’s talk balance. I noticed some recoil changes during the test server. What else is being tuned?
Brian: You’ll notice adjustments to gear, ammo, and armor. Recoil has been updated for better control. For example, the new MCX feels very fluid on full-auto — great for aggressive plays.
Ammo, Loot, and Community Feedback
Tony: Red ammo has always been a hot topic. Any updates there?
Brian: Yes, we’ve worked on it. Balancing ammo types was a key focus this season.
Tony: Has this impacted loot amounts across the map?
Brian: Yes, we’ve increased loot, especially in less central areas. That way, players who want to flank or avoid hot zones can still gear up meaningfully.
Tony: That’s great for mixing up gameplay. More loot also means more room to experiment with builds.
Brian: Exactly — more options, more strategies.
Solo Mode and PvP Alternatives
Tony: Let’s talk about something I’m really excited about: solo mode. How does it work?
Brian: We’ve introduced a Solo Mode available on Northridge and TV Station maps. It’s designed for players who want a tactical experience without facing squads. It uses Lockdown-level loot, so you can make big gains if you survive.
Tony: I love that. Having a solo-only queue is something that extraction shooters have been missing. Will Solo Mode be permanent?
Brian: If the response is positive, we’d love to keep it long-term.
Tony: What about the other new modes? I heard about Team Deathmatch, Secure Ops, and Team Elimination.
Brian: Yes! These are faster-paced PvP options. They’re perfect for testing out gear builds, practicing gunplay, or just having fun without the stress of losing your loadout. They take place on existing maps that have been adjusted for their specific gameplay needs.
Unlocks, Progression, and Monetization
Tony: In Season One, you added stash space expansions and other unlockables. Will we see more progression-based rewards in Season Ignition?
Brian: Yes. We’re adding more things players can grind for — cosmetics, skins, and potentially account-based upgrades.
Tony: And monetization? Any changes there?
Brian: Absolutely. We’ve introduced cheaper prices, new bundles, and direct skin purchases — no more relying entirely on RNG systems. We want to offer fair and flexible ways to support the game.
Steam Release & Final Thoughts
Tony: I know this is a big one for many players: is Arena Breakout Infinite still planning to release on Steam?
Brian: Yes, definitely. We want to make sure the game is in the best possible state first. No exact date yet, but Steam is coming, and it’ll be free-to-play.
Tony: That’s huge. Solo mode especially will help new players ease in once it hits Steam. So, when does Season Ignition officially go live?
Brian: Season Ignition launches April 29. You can download the game at playabi.com.
Tony: That’s everything I wanted to ask. Thank you so much for the time today, Brian. It’s great seeing devs take time to chat openly about development and what’s coming. I’m really looking forward to the new season.
Brian: Thank you, Tony. These conversations help us improve and keep us connected to the community. Let’s do more of them in the future!
Final Thoughts
With everything from map changes and loot buffs to solo queue and refined recoil, Season Ignition is shaping up to be the most polished and community-driven update to date.
